QFlightBag - Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Android app QFlightBag (package com.qrouting.qflightbag), by QRouting Software, handles your information. It applies to version 1.02 and later.

Summary

QFlightBag does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics, and it has no Internet access. Its only Android permission is the Google Play license check.

Data kept on your device

The app keeps only in its private storage on your device: a copy of each PDF you assign to a button, the names of those files, the notes you write by hand in the app, and your settings (night mode, destination or alternate, the last chart shown). Other apps cannot read them, and we never receive them.

The copy of a PDF is deleted when you remove it from its button or start a new flight. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in the Android settings deletes all of it.

Files you open

When you assign a PDF to a button, you pick the file in the Android file picker, or you send it to QFlightBag from another app (Share, Send to or Open with) and choose its button. The app reads only the files you choose or send to it, and only to copy them into the app.

Android backup

If backup is turned on in your device, Android may save the app's copies of your PDFs, your notes and its settings in your Google account, so they are restored when you install the app on a new device. This backup is done by Android and Google, not by us, and we cannot access it. It is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and you can turn it off in the backup settings of your device.

Google Play license check

QFlightBag is a paid app. When it starts, it asks the Google Play Store app of your device whether the app was bought with the Google account of the device. Google Play answers only whether it was bought: the app does not receive your name, email or any other account data, and it keeps the answer only on your device. This check is done by Google Play, under the Google Privacy Policy.

Children

The app is a tool for pilots and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this same address with a new date.
